The reference photo for this mountain silhouette was taken on my usual drive up Old Highway 40 just east of Truckee. Looking back on Donner Lake, I often trying to pick out my house from between the trees. This place means so much to locals and visitors. It is an often photographed vista, at its best at sunrise.
